Top Profs

Jim A. Kuypers is a professor of political communication at Virgina Tech. He has authored several publications including Presidential Crisis Rhetoric in the Post Cold War, Press Bias and Politics: How the Media Frame Controversial Issuesand, most recently, Bush's War: Media Bias and Justifications for War in a Terrorist Age. In an interview by the Virginia Tech News, Stephen D. Cooper of Marshall University had this to say of Kuyper's latest release: “Kuypers's book is provocative in the best sense of the word: It can stimulate fresh thinking about presidential rhetoric and press reporting of it—which Kuypers shows can be two very different things.”

Alan Jacobs is Chair Professor of English at Wheaton College located in Wheaton, Illinois. Jacobs’ interests and specializations include modern British and British Commonwealth Literature, literary theory, literary criticism, philosophy, and Christian theology. Jacobs has published over half a dozen books, including his latest, Original Sin: A Cultural History in 2008. Jacobs is also an avid blogger, and twitter-er. Refreshingly relevant, delightfully witty, and thoroughly engaging—a great prof to follow!
 
Francis Beckwith, a philosophy and church studies professor at Baylor University brings an impressive resume to the table. Beckwith has authored over a dozen books and a myriad of articles discussing the moral, ethical and philosophical implications of abortion, intelligent design, and other controversial issues. Beckwith has been featured in a variety of notable publications including The New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal and The Chronicle of Higher Education.

Mike Adams is an associate professor of criminal justice at UNC-Wilmington. Adams has seen both sides of the political coin, converting from a self-proclaimed atheist and Democrat to a believing, hard-nosed Republican and columnist for TownHall.com. Adams enjoys weaving a humorous thread throughout his writing, attracting a regular national following.

Thomas F. Bertonneau, a former professor of literature at several universities including UCLA, his alma mater, and CNU. As a traveling scholar and writer, Bertonneau has been involved in numerous studies on the declining educational standards of public universities. He is also a valuable contributor for the John William Pope Center for Higher Education Policy.

Allen C. Guelzo is the Henry R. Luce Professor of the Civil War Era and Director of Civil War Era Studies at Gettysburg College. In his most recent article, “Conservatism’s Greatest Failure: The Academy," Guelzo comments on leftist control of higher education, observing that, "Academics control the narrow neck through which America's managers, writers, thinkers, bankers, politicians, and executives must pass..."

The John William Pope Center is a non-profit organization whose goal is to analyze, discuss, and reform higher education nationwide. The Pope Center houses databases of articles, research, commentaries, news, and recommended reading—the ideal site professors, scholars, and educators.

Young America’s Foundation“…is committed to ensuring that increasing numbers of young Americans understand and are inspired by the ideas of individual freedom, a strong national defense, free enterprise, and traditional values.” YAF has discussion bases and resources available to students, alumni, supporters, and the media.

Phi Beta Cons a blog with “the right take on higher ed,” appears on The National Review Online. Here you can keep up with the latest blunders and triumphs in colleges and universities nationwide. Fresh, snarky, and informative—Phi Beta Cons is an exceptional source for well written conservative commentary.

Brain Terminal by Evan C. Maloney, also the writer and director of the controversial documentary IndoctrinateU gives an intelligent (and often humorous) commentary on the day's latest chatter--from politics to Hollywood, Brain Terminal has something (worth reading) to say about it all.
